Glenn Counsell is the Programme Manager for Diagnostics at Fusion for Energy (F4E) in Barcelona Spain, where he has worked since 2008 guiding the design and delivery of European contributions to ITER in the field of plasma and first wall diagnostics. Prior to that he was a research scientist and group leader for 10 years at the Culham Science Centre of UKAEA (CCFE) in Oxford UK, working on the science of fusion plasmas and their interactions with material surfaces. Before joining F4E, he was 2 years as Chief Scientist for the MAST Upgrade project at CCFE. In his early career, following completion of his Doctorate, he worked on the industrial deployment of plasmas for lighting and materials processing.
