Jochen Haucke obtained an MSc and a PhD in Mathematics from Technical University of Munich. After working 20 years in telecoms industry as software engineer and various managerial roles, he joined ESO in 2013. Jochen is now heading the control software and control engineering department at ESO. This team is responsible for the development of control systems both from control engineering and from software side over the full lifecycle.
