Mr. Peter Jacobsson holds a Master in Chemical Engineering from Chalmers University of Technology (Gothenburg, Sweden). He has 35 years’ experience of risk assessment and safety & reliability analysis within energy production (specifically nuclear power), process engineering and defence industry. The last 14 years, he has worked at European Spallation Source (ESS) as manager for Environment, Safety & Health (ESH). He had the privilege to build up the unit, today 25 people and at the same time working with the design of ESS. He has been responsible for the licensing of the facility, specifically with regard to radiation but also with general environmental aspects and topics like fire safety and electrical safety. Presently he has a position at ESS as Senior Adviser with focus upon handling of radioactive waste and general radiation safety.
