IFJ PAN

The Henryk Niewodniczański Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IFJ PAN) has been conducting both fundamental and applied research for years, aimed at developing modern technologies, including those implemented in industry. As one of the largest institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences, IFJ PAN holds the highest scientific category A+ and is a leader in the field of physics and related sciences. Our Institute actively collaborates with leading research centers worldwide, such as the Large Hadron Collider (LHC, CERN, Geneva; experiments ALICE, ATLAS, and LHCb), the European Free-Electron Laser (E-XFEL, Hamburg), the European Spallation Source ERIC (ESS ERIC, Lund, Sweden), the Système de Production d’Ions Radioactifs Accélérés en Ligne (SPIRAL2, GANIL, Caen, France), the Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research (FAIR, Darmstadt), the Cherenkov Telescope Array (CTA), the Pierre Auger Observatory (Argentina), the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER, Cadarache, France), and Belle2 (KEK, Tsukuba, Japan). Our strength lies in our people, as evidenced not only by our scientific achievements but also by the “HR Excellence in Research” award granted to us. The Institute’s staff consists of 567 people, including 39 full professors, 90 associate professors, 196 assistant professors, and more than 164 highly qualified engineers and technicians with experience in designing and constructing devices for scientific and research and development projects in the Division of Scientific Equipment and Infrastructure Construction (DAI).   One of our greatest achievements is the Bronowice Cyclotron Centre (CCB) – a modern facility where advanced proton therapies for cancer patients and international research projects in nuclear and medical physics are conducted. Thanks to our infrastructure and highly qualified team of scientists and engineers, we are able to deliver advanced technologies that are applicable in various industries. We invite all companies interested in implementing innovations based on the latest scientific achievements to collaborate with us.
