Promoting Big Science Opportunities in Montenegro
The 8th and concluding event of the promotional roadshow of the Big Science Business Forum (BSBF) in Central Europe countries was held in Podgorica (Montenegro) on 12 July 2024. Jointly organised by the Chamber of Economy, the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro, with the support of the Italian Embassy, the CEI-Central European Initiative Secretariat, Autonomous Region Friuli Venezia Giulia and BSBF Trieste 2024 organisers, the event allowed for a thorough presentation of the BSBF and its opportunities for business partnerships to a broad audience of Montenegrin stakeholders.
The event was opened by the President of the Chamber of Economy, Nina Drakić, and envisaged introductory remarks from State Secretary Marijeta Barjaktarović – Lanzardi (Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation of Montenegro), H.E. Andreina Marsella (Ambassador of Italy to Montenegro), CEI National Coordinator Radovan Bogojević (Ministry of Foreign Affairs), and Alessandro Lombardo from the Executive Secretariat of the CEI.
Paolo Acunzo from ENEA, Director of the hosting organisation of the BSBF2024, provided the audience with comprehensive information on the BSBF, as well as on the emerging Big Science common market in Europe, which could represent a significant opportunity for companies, operators and innovators from Montenegro.
Different stakeholders from Montenegro showed great interest in participating in BSBF2024 conference, which will take place in Trieste 1-4 October 2024.
The BSBF visits Central Europe promotional roadshow – which started in Belgrade (February 2024), with stops in Bratislava (March 2024), Prague (March 2024), Warsaw (April 2024), Budapest (May 2024), Zagreb (June 2024), Ljubljana (June 2024) and concluding in Podgorica (July 2024) – reached out to about 300 key stakeholders, thus ensuring a strong contribution of Central, Eastern and South-Eastern European countries to the future development of Big Science.
These topics will be further debated during the BSBF2024 Parallel Session “Opportunities for Big Science in Central Europe”, moderated by the CEI, which will be held on 2 October 2024 in Trieste (see BSBF 2024 programme at this link )
