Stefano Fabris is the Director of the Department of Physical Sciences of the Italian National Research Council (CNR). Fabris, former Director of the CNR Institute of Materials in Trieste, is an expert in advanced materials, high-performance computing and research infrastructures. He is President of the CHIP4POWER Consortium coordinating the EU pilot line for wide-bandgap semiconductors, Vice President of the RFX consortium for the national implementation of the EUprogram on nuclear fusion, and head of the Materials’ Science section of the Italian National Center on High-Performance Computing, Big Data and Quantum Computing. For his research, Fabris has received numerous international awards, including the Friedrich W. Bessel Award from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and the Presidential Award of the National Academy of Sciences of China.
