Fernando Calvelo is currently the Head of the Network Unit at the IT Services Group of the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF). In addition to this role, he serves as the deputy representative at the EIROForum IT Technical Working Group and as the IT representative for the EPN-Campus, which includes EMBL Grenoble, IBS, ILL, and ESRF, at the Metropolitan IT Steering Meetings. He is also the technical coordinator for Cybersecurity at ESRF. With a background in computer science engineering, Fernando began his career as a Network and System Administrator engineer in the industry. He quickly progressed to leadership positions within the IT sector, particularly in the logistics industry. In 2008, he joined ESRF as a participant in the EGEE Grid European Project before transitioning to his current role as Head of the Network Unit in the IT Services Group.
