Jose Antonio Ferreira Somoza is the section leader of the Injectors & Insulation Vacuum Operations within the Vacuum Surface and Coatings (VSC) group at CERN. He is a Chemical Engineer, PhD in Plasmas and Nuclear Fusion. His responsibilities encompass the operation and maintenance of the vacuum systems for both the LHC injector chain and insulation vacuum. He has wide experience in the simulation of vacuum systems and the physics of water outgassing and cryo-sorption.
