Promoting Gender Equality in Big Science: Roundtable Discussion and Recognition Award
Women in Big Science Business Forum aims to create a community where public and private entities, research, and industry in Big Science can interact, define actions to increase women’s participation and advancement in Big Science, and enhance their societal impact. The first WBSBF events in 2022 garnered significant interest by bringing together experts and policy-makers to exchange ideas and best practices.
Women in BSBF will be a key participant at BSBF2024, focusing on advancing inclusion and gender balance in Big Science projects. A highlight of the event will be a roundtable discussion titled “Big Science Projects: an opportunity for policy makers to foster inclusion and gender balance,” moderated by Elizabeth Pollitzer, a renowned expert with over 20 years of experience in gender equality and diversity in science.
Additionally, the Women in Big Science Recognition Award will be presented during BSBF2024. This award recognizes and celebrates organizations and projects that successfully promote gender equality and diversity within the Big Science ecosystem. The competition will assess achievements across three levels: Organizational Culture, Collaborative Partnerships, and Societal Impact.
The Award targets organizations, programs, and teams operating in the Big Science ecosystem (not individuals). Participants are required to submit their entries in the form of posters, with the deadline for electronic submission set for September 13, 2024. The winners will be announced during the Award Ceremony on October 1, 2024, and the posters will be displayed throughout the BSBF2024 event, providing an opportunity for all attendees to engage with the work and share experiences.
