Dr. Sergiy Galkin, Senior Research Scientist at the Institute of Scintillation Materials of NAS of Ukraine, is a specialist in scintillation materials science. He studies physical and chemical processes during the synthesis and growth of crystals of semiconductor compounds AIIBVI, studies the electrical and scintillation parameters of the obtained materials and improves the technology of their production. He participated in the international project “Lucifier” in terms of obtaining zinc selenide crystals enriched with selenium 82. He currently continues his research in the field of semiconductor detectors for gamma-ray spectrometry.
