Agenda

Roberto Antonione
Central European Initiative – Secretary General

The keynote speech “Regional cooperation and diplomacy for Big Science”, by the Secretary General of the Central European Initiative (CEI) Roberto Antonione, will introduce the main points of discussion of Parallel Session A1 – “Opportunities for Big Science in Central Europe”. In particular, based on the supporting action carried out during the first half of 2024, namely the “BSBF promotional roadshow in CEI Member States”, the keynote will focus on the contribution that regional cooperation and multilateral diplomacy can provide towards a stronger involvement of Central, Eastern and South-Eastern European countries in the context of Big Science.

Moderators and all speakers

A multinational panel composed of experts from the Czech Republic, Hungary, Montenegro, Poland, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Ukraine will discuss on the necessary steps to expand the business partnerships between the Big Science Organisations (BSOs) and suppliers from Central, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe, thus increasing the contribution of this broad geographical area to the consolidation of the European Big Science common market. The interdisciplinary aspect of the panel, which includes, companies, research centres, one university and one chamber of commerce, will enable a multi-perspective overview of the opportunities and challenges of Big Science, thus providing inputs and ideas for future initiatives in this domain.
