Agenda

To be announced soon

Mario Perez
ESS Bilbao

ESS Bilbao is an international R&D centre focused on the development of science and technology in particle accelerators, nuclear systems, and neutron technology. We are the entity responsible for the Spanish IK contribution to ESS. This talk will give an overview of the present and future projects the center is carrying out and the opportunities that these projects represent for the industry.

Giorgio Paolucci
Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste

Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste is a premier multidisciplinary research centre, specialized in the generation of high-quality synchrotron and free-electron laser light. The centre applies these technologies to materials and life sciences. An upgrade of the Elettra laboratory has been funded to create a new low-emittance storage ring called Elettra 2.0. The coherence, collimation, and increased intensity of the radiation beam generated by the new ring, along with significant and essential upgrades to the experimental facilities, will enable groundbreaking research in a wide range of high-impact scientific and technological fields.

Miguel Nuñez
EST

The European Solar Telescope (EST) will be the biggest solar telescope in Europe with a primary mirror of 4.2m observing in the visible and infrared bands. It is scientifically promoted by the European Association for Solar Telescopes. EST is currently concluding its preliminary design and it includes adaptive optics, lenses and mirrors, a vacuum chamber, optomechanical mounts, software, facilities and two buildings. The present budget estimation is beyond 200M Euros.

Diego Bettoni
INFN

Research in particle and nuclear physics requires the use of cutting-edge technologies to be developed together with industries, as shown by the significant contributions to the construction of major research facilities around the world such as the LHC at CERN, DUNE (USA), ESS (Sweden), XFEL (Germany) and many others. Furthermore INFN is the leader for the Italian candidature to host the Einstein Telescope in Sardinia and for another big infrastructure in the ESFRI Roadmap EUPRAXIA.

Aleš Hála
ELI ERIC

ELI ERIC is the world’s largest and most advanced high-power laser infrastructure and a global leader in technology and innovation in high-power, high-intensity, short-pulse laser systems. ELI lasers produce ultra-short pulses of high-energy photons, electrons, protons, and muons. ELI ERIC is open to procure and jointly develop instrumentation with global partners especially in the field of optical and optomechanical components, optical coatings, detectors, electronics, data infrastructure, cyber security and vacuum infrastructure.
